Tom Kristensen to make his debut at Race Retro 2017

Racing legend Tom Kristensen will make his debut at Race Retro, the international historic motorsport show, on Saturday 25th February, as part of the three-day event’s 15th anniversary ‘Super Show’ celebrations.
Kristensen will appear on the Interview Stage within the Motor Sport Hall of Fame, to which he was inducted in 2013. He will also be meeting fans and signing autographs as well as answering all their questions about his amazing career.

Aston Martin Group C racecar for auction at Race Retro

A historically significant 1989 Aston Martin AMR1 Group C racecar and important piece of British Motorsport history will be offered for sale by Silverstone Auctions at Race Retro on 24th February 2017.
Headlining the auction house’s dedicated competition car sale at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, racecar collectors have an outstanding opportunity to acquire a genuine ex-Works AMR1, from one of the great and golden eras of motorsport, with a pre-sale estimate of £500,000 to £550,000.

Retro Classic Tour returns on Saturday 25th February

It’s Back! Following the success for the first Retro Classic Tour in 2016, Race Retro 2017 is delighted to announce that the Tour will once again run on Saturday 25th February 2017.

Scrutineering will take place on the Apron outside the main entrance to the show and cars will be parked ‘on display’ for the public to view prior to the start of the Tour. The route will be approximately 120/140 miles,
on an all asphalt route, taking in the great scenic driving roads towards Oxford and surrounding area. The first car is due to leave around 10am and return after 3pm.

The Warren – Reincarnated at Race Retro

Visitors to Race Retro next 2017 will not only have a chance to see a variety of older exotic machinery on display, but also a live build by the 750 Motor Club of a significant car from 750 Formula – one of the oldest race formulae in the world.

‘The Warren’ was designed for 750 Formula by Jerry Evershed, and had instant championship success in the hands of Robin Smyth. Initially distinguished by extra-long front radius rods and a stack of four vertically-protruding exhaust pipes, it was The Warren’s supercharged engine – mounted at the rear of the car – that made the biggest impact.
